Artists International Development Fund

Written by  Ivor Widdison

“You’ve conquered the UK? So why not try the rest of the world?

A £750,000 Artists International Development Fund has been created by Arts Council England and the British Council. The plan is to support English artists to travel, explore and collaborate internationally, developing markets and audiences overseas for their work. Full details will be available on Wednesday 29 February, and the fund will open for applications from 1 March 2012.

So far as public funding is concerned, jazz continues to be seriously short-changed. Successful bids from English jazz musicians/composers could begin to redress this disgraceful imbalance. So check out the ACE and British Council websites on 29 February and be ready to make your pitch!”
