For the past three years, in particular, Jazz Services has committed more time to collecting international jazz data, establishing and developing contacts with promoters and educational networks in Europe, USA and Scandinavia. This was, in part, in recognition that some UK jazz musicians, having established a profile in the UK circuit often look further afield for new audiences. The remit of our Arts Council England funding has always been to support UK jazz but now more than ever, musicians are thinking internationally.
