Jazz Services is building a number of partnerships and alliances with organisations to provide mutual support to avoid duplication of services.
TBS has contributed materials to The Jazz Site, and its MSc Marketing Management students are preparing a strategic marketing plan for the company as part of their studies. Jazz Services is also keen to collaborate with TBS on research into the jazz market and its overall economic contribution to the cultural industries, and is one of the case studies for TBS Senior Lecturer and accomplished jazz musician Noel Dennis for his PhD on jazz and marketing.

University of Westminster www.westminster.ac.uk
Jazz Services' alliance with the University of the Westminster began with the authorship by the University's Mykaell Riley and David Laing of the Value of Jazz Report commisioned by Jazz Services in 2006. A second report on the state of media coverage of jazz in the UK was produced by the same authors, while a further installment of the Value of Jazz research is expected in Autumn 2010. On 19 January 2010, at London’s Cockpit Theatre, the University of
Westminster’s music business network MusicTank and Jazz Services hosted
the launch of a major Jazz Services report into the media representation
of jazz in the UK. To download copies of the reports listed above, visit Jazz Services' Reports

National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) www.nyjo.org.uk
Jazz Services is proud to be involved in a new phase in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra’s life began on
Monday 12 April. After 45 years, the indomitable Bill Ashton
MBE is handing on the baton to two people. Dr. Fiona Ord-Shrimpton
becomes NYJO’s newly-appointed Executive Director, and Royal College
Professor of Jazz Mark Armstrong assumes responsibility for the band’s
musical direction. Bill Ashton will remain as Founder MD and Life President of NYJO.
Nigel Tully, who has been a NYJO Board Director since 2000, will
continue as Executive Chair of NYJO. Transforming what until now has been an individually inspired
organisation into a truly national educational institution will be a
fascinating challenge. The Board of NYJO, with support from Jazz
Services, are committed to making the change one that is positive for
youth jazz in the UK.

National Jazz Archive www.nationaljazzarchive.co.uk
The National Jazz Archive (NJA), situated in Loughton Library, Essex,
is the UK’s premier research and information centre for jazz, blues and
related music. Concentrating on written, printed and photographic
documentation of the music, the NJA has amassed a body of information
that can truly be considered world-class. Jazz Services assisted the NJA in its successful bid for a Project Planning Grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund for digitising important parts of its archive. Jazz Services' Director, Chris Hodgkins, is the Chair of the Trustees of the National Jazz Archive.
